Summary: "Conquering Your Inbox" is an eLearning course designed to help individuals manage their email more efficiently and effectively. This course gives practical tips and strategies for staying on top of your inbox. It uses gamified interactions to help learners distinguish between essential and non-essential emails and how to prioritize them.

Interaction Description

This interaction requires the learner to draw on their existing knowledge and experience with email. In this case, they’re asked to consider their definition of "non-essential email" before dragging the examples to the mailbox. The gamified interaction increases learner engagement and learning retention.

Interaction Description

This interaction scaffolds the information covered in the lesson by asking the learner to reflect on their current practice of inbox checking. In this way, what might normally be frontloaded as static "information about email processing" is transformed into deeper knowledge for the learner resulting into information this is more readily applicable.

Interaction Description

In the final lesson, this slide serves to clearly set out the three most important routines of maintaining a zero inbox. To engage the student more fully, a drag and drop interaction is used. The goal for this interaction requires the learner to use what they have previously learned in a prior slide, and reinforce the information through the learner's physical participation.

"The Online Meeting Venue"

Summary: As remote work grows more common, online business meetings have become the new norm. Many people may forget that they also need to present themselves as professionals when meeting online. This eLearning course was created to underscore this need and give the learner some tips on how to look professional in an online venue.

Scenario Segment

This segment appears at the end of the first lesson of the course, "Background Setting." It's a branching scenario where the learner chooses the solution to the character's problem by helping her determine the best online setting for her business meeting.

Quiz Interaction

This quiz interaction calls on the learner to apply their new knowledge of setting, lighting and camera angle. The learner must determine: what's wrong in each of the pictures and match the descriptions of the scene on the left with the flawed outcome on the right.

Description

This microlearning lesson is intended to supplement the ILT Phishing course. The four modules will be distributed to participants the day before the information is covered in training. The quiz answers will be reviewed by the facilitator prior to ILT training in order to tailor the curriculum so that particular knowledge gaps may be prioritized. This keeps the student interested by focusing more on what they don't already know!
